The Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dašić held a reception for H.E. Anke Konrad, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, who visited Kragujevac today.
Relations between Germany and Serbia as well as between Germany and Kragujevac are very close, Ambassador Konrad said after the meeting with the Mayor. She expressed her satisfaction with the existing cooperation and pointed out that the cooperation between our two countries is not only at the level of economy. I visited the University of Kragujevac today in order to expand our cooperation in the field of science and culture, the exchange of students. The good framework for this is the long-term cooperation between the cities of Ingolstadt and Kragujevac. It is implicit that we want to improve our cooperation. That is why it is important that we talk about it openly and intensively for the sake of the future of the youth, the better perspective of Serbia, which is on its path to EU membership that will always be supported by Germany, Ambassador Konrad said.
I had the pleasure of officially hosting the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, H.E. Anke Konrad, even though we have had the opportunity to meet several times. We talked about possible forms of cooperation between Kragujevac and German companies coming our city, as well as about improving our cooperation in the fields of culture and education, said Mayor Nikola Dašić. It has been twenty years since we signed the Agreement of Cooperation with Ingolstadt and in some way we could mark this anniversary. Mayor Dašić pointed out that Kragujevac has respect due to the exceptional cooperation and the conditions in which investors from Germany do business here, citing the companies Siemens, Wacker Neuson, which employ a large number of Kragujevac residents.
The German state and its people are known for precision, productivity, and high technological development, from which one can learn not only in the field of economy, but also in other fields, Mayor Dašić said.
