The cooperation between the City of Kragujevac and the Embassy of France in Serbia was made official today with the signing of the Convention on Cooperation. The Convention was signed by Pierre Cochard, Ambassador of France in Serbia and Miroslav Petrašinović, President of the City Assembly. In this way, the Embassy of France, the French Institute in Serbia and the City of Kragujevac emphasized their common aspiration to develop new partnerships between Kragujevac and France, especially in the fields of culture and education as well as in the field of urban and sustainable development.

There are many fields of cooperation between Kragujevac and France, such as education, culture, cooperation between our universities, areas of research etc. The City of Kragujevac is the winner of the “Ekoopština” award for enviromental protection within the program that promotes cooperation between French and Serbian cities. Today we signed a Convention by which we will strengthen our cooperation and expand it in the field of culture. The aspiration is mutual and it is up to us to make this happen - said Pierre Cochard, Ambassador of France in Serbia.

The President of the City Assembly, Miroslav Petrašinović, pointed out that this agreement is one of the good things in our cooperation with France and our partner City of Suresnes. The French company Trigano employs around 300 Kragujevac residents and it is successfully operating in Kragujevac. Furthermore, the cooperation between the city of Kragujevac and France recorded a surplus last year. The program called “I love French“ is already successfully implemented in three schools in our city. We have a lot to offer when it comes to the cultural scene. Our ensembles, orchestras, The Princely Serbian Theater and art galleries are what we want to present to the French people and French local governments, and we are also willing to have French artists as our guests.
