At the faculties of the University of Kragujevac, in addition to doctoral and master academic studies in English, the Faculty of Medical Sciences conducts integrated academic studies for the pharmacy study program in English. In order to improve teaching in a foreign language, the Faculty of Medical Sciences is in the process of accrediting integrated academic studies of medicine in English which is also very important for Kragujevac as a University Center.

Prof. Dr. Vladimir Jakovljević, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of India in Serbia, Sanjiv Kohli, and they discussed a possible partnership, since Indian students are very interested in education in Serbia. Danka Andonovski, member of the City Council for Investments and Project Management, attended the meeting.

In addition to doctoral studies in the field of industrial engineering and bioengineering and master academic studies in information technology and computer games development, the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Kragujevac provides classes in English for pharmacy studies, and expects accreditation for integrated academic studies of medicine in English. In addition to improving the quality of teaching, such a project is also of great importance for the City - Danka Andonovski said.

Kragujevac - as a city willing to follow and respond to the residents needs, is very attractive to young people and students who obtain their academic degrees at the University. Accreditation for teaching medicine in English will also attract a large number of young people from foreign countries, which enables the development of the city in areas that follow the development of the university center, and that is why we will support this initiative in every sense, Andonovski pointed out.

The Faculty of Medical Sciences, as the best-ranked faculty on the Shanghai list, did not have study programs in English until recently. We started with Pharmacy because we had the most prepared lecturers there, and now we have submitted for accreditation for medical study programs in English and we expect to receive approval, said Prof. Dr. Jakovljević, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences.

We are in the process of preparing for the new academic year for 147 domestic and foreign students, 88 of whom will listen to lectures in Serbian, and 59 in English, with the possibility of transferring to a higher year. We expect the arrival of students who studied in war-torn countries, and who recognized Serbia as a country that provides quality education and is significantly more affordable than the countries of Western Europe. So far we have had different interests and that is why we are establishing contacts with the representatives of the countries in Serbia, and today we spoke with the ambassador of the Republic of India in Serbia.

I am glad that we can expand the cooperation between our countries in one of the most important fields, the field of education, which is important for both countries. Education is an opportunity for our young people to go abroad, on this occasion they come to Serbia and that is why we are here today, says Ambassador of the Republic of India Sanjiv Kohli. He pointed out that more than 20,000 students from India who studied in Ukraine had to transfer to other countries due to wartime circumstances and that more than three thousand students had already transferred to universities in Serbia. Due to the quality of the education system, the interest of young people from India in starting and continuing education is still high, Ambassador Kohli said.
