The Mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dašić, hosted a reception for H.E. Martijn Elgersma, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Serbia, on the occasion of his first visit to Kragujevac. During the meeting, the mayor presented Kragujevac, highlighting its values, tradition, economic advantages and the potential of the University of Kragujevac.
Kragujevac has much to be proud of. I expect that, following this exchange of information, we will establish certain contacts, particularly with Dutch investors interested in investing in Serbia, said Dašić.
Ambassador Elgersma emphasized that the purpose of the visit was to become acquainted with the business environment in Kragujevac and the possibilities for cooperation between Serbia and the Netherlands.
The Netherlands is the second-largest investor in Serbia. We discussed opportunities for cooperation between Dutch and Serbian companies. We visited the State Data Center Kragujevac, two partner organizations that we supported through the MATRA Programme, and had the opportunity to see the mural of composer Ljubica Marić, which was supported by our embassy, the ambassador noted.
The visit once again confirmed Kragujevac’s potential as a city open to investment and the development of international cooperation.
