The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Serbia, H.E. İlhan Saygılı, accompanied by Trade Counselor Ms. Yasemin Yüce and Second Secretary Ms. Galena Kartal, visited the State Data Center in Kragujevac, where he met with the Mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dašić.
During the meeting, Mayor Dašić introduced Ambassador Saygılı to the development potentials of Kragujevac and presented the city’s vision of successfully combining a rich industrial past with the technologies of the future. Special emphasis was placed on the significance of the State Data Center and the Innovation District, as well as on further plans to position Kragujevac as a regional center of knowledge and modern technologies.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed interest in further cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in the fields of information technology, digitalization, and innovation.
During the tour of the State Data Center, which has been one of the key pillars of digital transformation in Serbia since 2019, discussions focused on the further development of the IT sector and opportunities to position Kragujevac as a regional center for artificial intelligence and advanced technological systems.
The construction of the Innovation District, which will also house the Science and Technology Park, opens up opportunities for new partnerships, knowledge exchange, and connection between domestic and international actors, representing an important step toward the long-term and sustainable development of the city.
