The Мayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dašić organized a reception for the delegation of the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences of Spain, led by the President Dr. Jaime Gil Aluja. The reception was attended by Prof. Dr. Nenad Filipović, rector of the University of Kragujevac and Prof. Dr. Dobrica Milovanović, retired Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences. The reason for the visit of Spanish scientists from the field of economics and finance to Kragujevac is the holding of an international scientific meeting and the signing of an agreement on inter-institutional cooperation between the University of Kragujevac and the Royal Academy of Sciences of Spain.
The Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dašić pointed out that Kragujevac is proud of the University as the basis of the city's development, and that it is the City that creates infrastructure and other resources for even greater progress. Establishing cooperation with other scientific institutions is a clear sign of the University's determination to be part of the most important scientific trends in the world, Mayor Dašić said at the reception. He reminded that there is a State Data Centre in Kragujevac, within which the construction of the Innovation District will soon begin as well as that the construction of the Centres of Excellence is also being completed. They all create the basis and lay the foundation for development that follows global trends in digitization and the application of artificial intelligence.
President of the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences of Spain, Dr. Jaime Gil Aluja, gave a lecture on the connection between artificial intelligence and economic sciences at a scientific meeting at the University. An agreement on cooperation was signed with the University of Kragujevac.
The opportunities offered by the University of Kragujevac are enormous, as are our wishes to participate in every progress and innovation of technological sciences, first of all for scientific activities in economic sciences, said Dr. Jaime Gil Aluja. He pointed out that technological innovations should be followed in order to improve all scientific fields and essentially prosper. Prosperity has no limits, said the president of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Spain, and thanked for the hospitality and the reception, which is an act of good will for the progress of science and thus the entire community.
The agreement on mutual cooperation signed by the University of Kragujevac and the Royal Academy of Sciences of Spain includes exchange of students, support and exchange of projects, cooperation in various projects, said Danka Andonovski, member of the City Council for Investments and Project Management. She assessed it as a very important document for the City of Kragujevac and the University of Kragujevac. The development of science is a prerequisite for the development of new technologies. New technologies are a prerequisite for the development of the economy and it is the only way to progress, Andonovski emphasized.
President of the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences of Spain Dr. Jaime Gil Aluja was promoted to honorary Professor at the University of Kragujevac. At the next session of the Academy in Barcelona, Prof. Dr. Nenad Filipović, rector of the University of Kragujevac will become an honorary member.
