At the Forum of Mayors of China and Central and Eastern European Countries in Ningbo, People's Republic of China, for which an invitation was sent by the organizers through the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Shanghai, the City of Kragujevac presented its investment and development potentials and achievements in the field of green and advanced technologies.
The Forum was held as part of the China - CEEC EXPO event, which is one of the central events of this kind in the People's Republic of China.
Before the representatives of the City of Kragujevac, the Ministers of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Siniša Mali and Jelena Tanasković, as well as the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the People's Republic of China, Maja Stefanović, had notable participation and presentations at the China - CEEC EXPO event.
It is a real privilege to present at such a high level at this prestigious event, which brought decision makers, business, innovators and leaders from Central and Eastern Europe to Ningbo. The Forum gathered more than 50 mayors and high-ranking officials from China and the whole of Central and Eastern Europe - pointed out Dr. Marko Selaković, advisor to the mayor of Kragujevac, who represented the City of Kragujevac in Ningbo and presented the potential for cooperation.
We owe special thanks to our true friends and partners from the City of Ningbo. Their hospitality and willingness to cooperate oblige us to take this presentation as a first step. I will propose to Mayor Nikola Dašić that we continue the talks between Kragujevac and Ningbo in the direction of trade, development, scientific, educational and investment cooperation. This cooperation can be the beginning of new success and investment for the city of Kragujevac and the entire region, and also the best continuation of the path that, in the cooperation between Serbia and China, President Vučić and President Xi Jinping have set before all of us - emphasized Selaković.The initiatives and solutions we presented attracted a lot of attention from both the host and other participants of the meeting. With the adequate development of the projects and the partnership with Ningbo and the People's Republic of China, we can achieve a lot. The sky is the limit. It is up to us to further expand and build this partnership, established on the foundations of cooperation between the leaders of the Republic of China and Serbia and the decades-long friendship of our people. Ministers Mali, Tanasković, Momirović and others are already doing this very successfully, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Beijing, the Consulate General in Shanghai, and numerous Serbian and Chinese companies, but also our Chinese friends in Serbia, led by Ambassador Chen Bo as a true promoter of this steel friendship. We hope that both Kragujevac and Ningbo will contribute to make this friendship even stronger and stronger - said Selaković.
In addition to speeches and bilateral meetings within the Forum, the delegation of the City of Kragujevac had several meetings with the representatives of the institutions of the City of Ningbo and the People's Republic of China, participated in the opening ceremony of the pavilion of Serbian products, as well as the opening of the office of the First Business Association in Ningbo, and the opening of the "Barista challenge", a competition organized in the People's Republic of China with the support of companies from the Republic of Serbia.
In his video message, the Mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dašić, sent greetings to his fellow mayor of Ningbo and invited him to visit the City of Kragujevac and the Republic of Serbia. This three-day visit was realized with the wholehearted support of the City of Ningbo and the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Shanghai.
