As part of the Green Cities Serbia project, the City of Kragujevac was visited by a consortium of Dutch companies so that they could transfer experience and knowledge about sustainable and innovative solutions for greening and expanding green areas in cities. The project is implemented in Serbia under the auspices of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Experienced companies such as JUB Holland, Kennis Plants, Nophadrain, OKRA, Sempergreen, Van den Berk, partners in the project, presented their long-term knowledge, experience, achievements and offered sustainable and innovative solutions to the representatives of the city, the city's expert services, the services of JKP Šumadija, experts of JP Urbanizam for a greener city in order to improve the social and economic urban environment.

The activity of the consortium is greening and all jobs and projects related to the greening of urban areas, from the cultivation of seedlings, the construction of green walls and roofs, to the maintenance of green infrastructure, said Danka Andonovski, a member of the City Council for Investments and Project Management. Mrs. Andonovski assessed the visit of Dutch experts as very significant, since the Green Agenda and sustainable urban mobility are prevailing in the world and in our country. I believe that with the help of other people's experiences and know-how technology, we will be able to overcome the problems we are facing, especially those we will face in the future, bearing in mind the intensity of growth and development of the City of Kragujevac. Greening must be an integral part of urban development, said Andonovski.

The meeting in the hall of the City Assembly was also attended by private investors who should include green technologies in construction, because green areas play an important role in improving the quality of life in cities, strengthening social cohesion and contributing to a healthy living and working environment.

Kragujevac is one of the five cities participating in the "Green Cities Serbia" project funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the goal of the project is the positive effect of greenery on reducing the impact of climate change in urban areas, as well as creating a more beautiful city and a better quality of life. The expert team has so far visited Belgrade and Novi Sad.
