The development of economic relations, cooperation in the fields of innovation and teaching of the French language were the topics of discussion between His Excellency the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Serbia, Pierre Cochard, and the Mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dašić.
French companies are interested in investing in Serbia, and we see opportunities for cooperation with the City of Kragujevac, because it is industrially and economically developed, Ambassador Cochard said after the meeting. The opening of the Decathlon in Kragujevac is another proof of France's willingness to invest and develop the economic area, the ambassador added, and on that occasion he singled out the field of innovation and the Innovation District, where, as he said, Kragujevac is very active. Another topic of today's meeting was the development of French language teaching, but also the already good cooperation in the field of culture.
Meeting with H.E. Ambassador of France Pierre Cochard passed in a good and friendly atmosphere and today we have a special occasion because the French Decathlon opens in Kragujevac, said Mayor Dašić. Today's meeting was an opportunity to exchange information in the fields of economy, education and culture. Reminding that Kragujevac is a twin city with the French Suresnes, with which it has long-standing cooperation, Mayor Nikola Dašić presented Ambassador Cochard with the possibilities of the University, the future Innovation District and the Data Center, as well as all the other possibilities that the City of Kragujevac can provide to future French investors and others who are in the mood for some kind of cooperation. Because of everything we talked about today, I hope, Mayor Dašić said, that today's third visit of the French ambassador is not the last.
The delegation from the Embassy of France consisted of representatives of the diplomatic and regional economic offices as well as representatives of the culture department.
After the meeting with the Mayor, Ambassador of France Pierre Cochard visited the Data Center, and then he will attend the opening ceremony of Decathlon in Kragujevac, one of the largest sports equipment chains.
