On the occasion of Jerusalem Day - Yom Yerushalayim, a ceremonial event dedicated to this important holiday was held at the Federation of Jewish Communities in Serbia in Belgrade. This year, the holiday is being observed in commemoration of the reunification of the City of Jerusalem. The City of Kragujevac was represented at the event by Aleksandar Štajn, Director of the Princely Serbian Theatre.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Avivit Bar-Ilan, Ambassador of the State of Israel to Serbia, and brought together representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Government of the Republic of Serbia, local governments, the business community, and numerous distinguished guests. The event provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of friendship, cooperation, and the further strengthening of ties between Serbia and Israel in a festive atmosphere.
Yom Yerushalayim is a national holiday commemorating the return of Jerusalem’s Old City to Israeli authority following the Six-Day War in 1967. It is marked by various state ceremonies and commemorative events.
