The Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Oleksandr Lytvynenko, visited Kragujevac today. On this occasion, a reception was held at the City Administration Building. On behalf of the City of Kragujevac, Danka Andonovski, Member of the City Council for International Cooperation and Local Self-Government, welcomed the Ambassador.
During the meeting, the participants discussed opportunities for enhancing cooperation in the fields of economic development, education, culture, and high technologies. Particular attention was given to strengthening ties between institutions and economic development agencies, as well as to potential projects in the areas of technological innovation and artificial intelligence.
As emphasized during the meeting, Kragujevac, as a university, industrial, and technological centre, has significant potential for the development of international cooperation. Ambassador Lytvynenko expressed interest in the initiative to establish a faculty dedicated to artificial intelligence in Kragujevac, which opens up opportunities for strengthening academic and scientific ties.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for cultural exchange through the organization of concerts, exhibitions, and theatre programmes, as well as the City of Kragujevac’s initiative to explore possibilities, following positive examples from the region, for hosting children from Ukraine during holidays and school breaks.
The participants agreed that Serbia and Ukraine are connected by long-standing relations and mutual respect, and expressed their readiness to further enhance cooperation in areas of common interest in the period ahead.
