Organized by the Tesla Science Foundation of Philadelphia, the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, and American Paradigm Schools, a three-day international conference dedicated to the life, work, and scientific legacy of Nikola Tesla was held in Philadelphia.
Kragujevac and Serbia were represented at this important gathering by Dalibor Tvrdišić, Principal of the Dragiša Mihailović Primary School, who was a member of the delegation and one of the conference panelists. Tvrdišić is the recipient of the Best Principal in the Region award, presented by the Association of the Best Teachers and Leaders of the Region, in recognition of numerous school projects, contributions to the improvement of educational practice, and an innovative approach to leadership and education.
This year’s conference held special significance as it took place in a year marking the 170th anniversary of the birth of one of the world’s greatest scientists and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.
The aim of these annual gatherings is to develop educational programs inspired by Tesla’s inventions, present new projects of the Tesla Science Foundation, and strengthen cultural and scientific ties between the Republic of Serbia and the United States of America.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in New York, further underscoring the importance of cultural diplomacy and the promotion of Serbia’s scientific heritage on the international stage.
During the panel discussions, representatives of Serbian scientific, cultural, and educational communities from around the world presented their projects, research, and creative work inspired by Tesla’s life and achievements in the fields of science, literature, documentary filmmaking, video production, visual arts, and multimedia art.
