This evening, as part of the City Day celebrations, a ceremonial reception was held at City Hall for members of delegations from twin and partner cities, representatives of the business community, and the City’s closest associates. The reception was hosted by the Mayor of Kragujevac, Nikola Dašić, and the President of the City Assembly, Ivica Momčilović.
Mayor Nikola Dašić welcomed the delegations to City Hall, emphasizing that Kragujevac is a city of open heart, strong roots, and a clear vision for the future.
He noted that the occasion carries special symbolism, as it is being organized for the first time in a building that reflects the city’s historical continuity, as well as its ongoing development and responsibility toward its citizens.
Recalling the year 1818, when Kragujevac became the first capital of modern Serbia, Mayor Dašić stressed that relations with partner cities are not merely formal, but grounded in genuine partnership, trust, and joint efforts. The presence of representatives from eleven twin and partner cities, together with local business leaders, confirms that sincere friendship is built over time and endures in all circumstances, he said, expressing his confidence that cooperation will continue through new projects and strengthened ties that transcend borders.
In addition to delegations from the cities and municipalities of Bijeljina, Bielsko-Biała, Pitești, Ohrid, Stari Grad Sarajevo, Foča, Budva, Zubin Potok, Kozarska Dubica, Oštra Luka, and Prijedor, the traditional ceremonial reception was attended by representatives of the local business sector and members of the Sports Association of Mostar.
Among the guests were also honorary citizens of Kragujevac - Tudor Pendiuc, former Mayor of Pitești, and Mima Andrejević Kri, philanthropist.
